The Maintenance Manager responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the plant. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, Maintenance staff, and facility are properly maintained to achieve optimal production efficiency. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians and work closely with other departments to support continuous improvement and safety initiatives along with production downtime, and preventive and predictive maintenance controls.
*This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment, which may involve exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures. The role will require occasional evening or weekend work to address urgent maintenance issues or complete special projects.
Major Job Functions
- Directly Supervise, mentor, and provide daily guidance to a team of maintenance technicians, and maintenance planner ensuring effective and efficient maintenance operations.
- Scheduling of Maintenance Mechanics with working hours schedule, weekly timecard approvals, time off requests, etc.
- Check daily production board for scheduled product runs
- Communicate with production supervisor(s), Lead people, and operators for any setup issues.
- Communicate with Plant Manager, Plant Engineer, and Maintenance mechanics for any special assignments.
- Implementing and maintaining machinery and facility preventative maintenance schedules.
- Verification of work orders and repairs performed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and compliance reports.
- Prepare and present regular maintenance reports to management.
- Provide hands-on repairs in electrical/ mechanical as needed.
- Responsible for the quality and safety of products produced including machinery used by Sunny Sky Products.
- Routine inspection of equipment and facility to identify potential issues and schedule repairs as needed.
- Responsible for keeping the workshop clean and well-maintained
- Assign the tasks to maintenance technicians and validate.
- Daily tracking of equipment downtime
- Develop and Execute PMs for equipment, utilities and validate.
- Keep maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
- Implementing proactive maintenance measures to prevent potential disruptions.
- Responsible for Maintenance department KPI’s
- Responsible for Parts Inventory management
Required Skills/Abilities/Education
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 4 years in a manager role within a Food manufacturing environment.
- Working understanding of PLC logic and its functions/ operations
- Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, and AutoCAD drawings.
- Must have the ability to lead projects and people.
- Must have basic computer skills in Word, and Excel
- Knowledge/training in Lock/out tag-out procedures.
- Knowledge/training in confined space designations and entry procedures.
- Knowledge/training on tow motor and scissor lift operations.
- Knowledge/training in GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Knowledge/ experience using CCMS systems
