JOB OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this position is to assist the Information Technology team in supporting and maintaining the organizations technology infrastructure and application software. This internship provides hands-on experience with computer systems, networks, and user support while learning industry best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in an Information Systems, Computer Science, or related program.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PCs, printers, and mobile devices.
- Support IT staff in maintaining network connectivity and performing routine system checks.
- Help with inventory management of IT equipment and documentation of configurations.
- Participate in projects related to system upgrades, cybersecurity, and application deployment.
- Respond to user requests in person, via phone, or through ticketing systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all MWEC security and safety policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Understanding of PC maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow instructions and document work clearly.
- Time management and multitasking skills.
- Professional attitude and customer service orientation.
BUSINESS AND RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Information Technology Coordinator.
Indirect Supervision: This position will work closely with IT staff and other departments to resolve technical issues.
POSITION SPECIFICATION / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will be from August 2026 thru December 2026. Hours are negotiable up to 20 hours per week.
- Requires frequent sitting and use of a computer keyboard.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Normal, non-smoking office environment.
- Occasional travel within the service area.
