Job Description
Yank Technologies, Inc. is a wireless power startup in Brooklyn, New York. We develop long-range, highpower wireless charging technology. Safe. Simple. No contact required. With patented antenna and amplifier developments in resonant inductive technology, we provide a scalable solution for variable ranges of power and distances. We have multiple aerospace, military, mobility, and industrial customers for a range of applications, such as wirelessly charging robotic vehicles on the Moon and terrestrial industrial automation systems.

The Hardware Engineer will design, build, and validate the electronic hardware behind our wireless power systems, from early architecture through production. This includes power converters, resonant amplifiers, control and sensing circuits, and communication interfaces at power levels from watts to kilowatts. You will own designs end to end defining requirements, selecting components, simulating circuits, capturing schematics, overseeing or performing PCB layout, bringing up prototypes, and validating performance, EMC, and thermal behavior. This role works closely with power electronics, systems, and mechanical engineering, and reports to the CTO.

The primary responsibilities of the Hardware Engineer are as follows:
\n
\n
- \n
- Design and simulate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power circuits, including high-frequency switching converters, gate driver, sensing, protection, and microcontroller-based control circuits.
- Capture schematics and complete PCB layouts in ECAD, applying DFM, DFT, and EMC/EMI best practices.
- Create and maintain symbols, footprints, and component library data.
- Bring up and debug prototype hardware using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, function generator. Update Bill of Materials and testing plans for empirical verification.
- Collaborate with other engineering team members on EMC/EMI compliance, thermal, manufacturing, and mechanical developments that improve PCB design and system robustness.
- Routinely update the CTO on project status, project improvements, and other recommendations.
