Job Title: Renovation Technician (Handyman)
Job Description
This role focuses on renovating vacant apartments as part of a two-person team, performing a variety of basic construction, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall tasks to prepare units for new residents.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team of two to complete renovations of vacant apartments efficiently and safely.
- Perform basic plumbing tasks, including removing and installing faucets and shower heads.
- Carry out basic electrical work, such as installing ceiling fans and related fixtures.
- Complete basic carpentry tasks, including installing baseboards and door casings with a clean, finished appearance.
- Patch holes in drywall and, when needed, remove and replace sections of drywall.
- Use hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, and finish nail guns to complete renovation tasks.
- Follow established safety procedures and use tools and materials according to guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within each apartment unit.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Report any issues, material needs, or unexpected conditions encountered during renovations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in basic construction tasks related to apartment renovation.
- Hands-on experience with basic plumbing work, including changing faucets and shower heads.
- Ability to perform basic electrical tasks, including installing ceiling fans.
- Basic carpentry skills, including installing baseboards and door casings.
- Experience with basic drywall repair, including patching holes and replacing sections of drywall.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impact drivers, and finish nail guns.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use tools and materials correctly.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a two-person team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- General construction background covering plumbing, installation, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Familiarity with HVAC-related tasks or environments.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes in renovated units.
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks within required timelines.
- Willingness to perform a variety of hands-on tasks and adapt to changing project needs.

Work Environment
This role is based in vacant apartment units where you will work in pairs to complete renovations. The environment is hands-on and construction-focused, involving regular use of hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, and finish nail guns. You can expect a physically active setting that requires safe tool handling and adherence to safety practices. Work hours and shifts may vary based on project needs, and you will move between units within the property as renovation tasks are assigned.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cypress, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
