Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Senior Manager, Cloud Security Architect Job in Bethesda, MD. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key clients in the hospitality industry. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and securing cloud infrastructure across AWS environments, including networking, Kubernetes, cloud storage, and cloud-native security services. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong background in AWS cloud security, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Preference will be given to candidates with cloud security certifications and experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
Senior Manager, Cloud Security Architect Job responsibilities:
- Designs and maintains secure architectures for cloud infrastructure in AWS, AliCloud, and any cloud the company operates in, defining security reference architectures and guardrails for services like VPC, subnets, security groups, and IAM roles.
- Implements and validates network segmentation, ingress/egress controls, and virtual firewall configurations for cloud infrastructure components (EC2, ALB/NLB, Route 53, VPCs, Transit Gateways).
- Secures containerized workloads in Amazon EKS or self-managed Kubernetes clusters, defining security controls including RBAC, network policies, pod security standards, and image scanning.
- Collaborates with DevOps and platform teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and container registries.
- Ensures secure configuration of cloud-native storage solutions (S3, EBS, EFS), implementing encryption, logging, access control, and data classification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Seven or more years of cybersecurity experience, including three or more years focused on AWS cloud security.
- Hands-on experience securing AWS services, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with cloud security monitoring, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Professional cloud security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CKS, or similar are preferred.
