Summary:
Coordinates the process for the submittal and tracking of Work Authorization Forms (WAF)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Trains personnel to the requirements of NAVSEA Standard Item 009-106.
- Maintains a log of personnel trained by contract.
- Verifies Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) are filled out correctly by the originator and document all required repairs as noted by the scope of work.
- Assign tracking numbers to each WAF.
- Know how to perform the tag-out process.
- Submit WAFs to customers and track until they are approved.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Able to withstand environmental factors such as:
- Outside weather conditions
- High, precarious places
- Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
- Very loud noise level
- Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
- Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as:
- Stooping
- Bending
- Squatting
- Climbing (including but not limited to vertical and incline ladders, mast and kingpost)
- Crawling (including but limited to through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids).
Experience Requirements:
- Prior service in the Navy is a plus.
- Familiar with shipboard systems.
- Must have training on and possess a Tagout Users Manual (TUMs).
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.
- Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening.
