Job Description
Job DescriptionAbout the Role
You’re the person who keeps complex production equipment humming. From first call to final sign-off, you install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machine tools, their attachments, and the auxiliary equipment that keeps the line moving. You’re equally at home diagnosing a sudden fault, fabricating a replacement shaft, or bringing a computer-controlled system back online. Safety, order, and precision guide your day.
A Day in the Life
Start your shift by reviewing maintenance work orders and prioritizing urgent requests. You might install a new motor and starter on one machine, then move to troubleshoot a solid-state control issue on another. After lunch, you fabricate a pin and bushing set, perform preventative maintenance on key assets, and coordinate with a vendor to secure a hard-to-find replacement part. You wrap up by updating the maintenance system with accurate notes and mentoring an apprentice through a basic cutting and welding task—always keeping your area safe, clean, and aligned with 6S and all company safety programs.
