Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Data & Reporting to support data analysis, reporting, data quality, and process improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will analyze complex datasets, identify trends and outliers, develop reports, maintain data management procedures, and communicate analytical findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis on assigned projects using standard data exploration techniques, including trend analysis and outlier identification.
  • Verify outlying data points and ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate data analysis logic, methodology, steps, and results to program staff and leadership.
  • Analyze operational datasets and identify trends, patterns, inconsistencies, and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Conduct analyses and prepare quarterly and annual reports within established timelines.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for data management, verification, and maintenance.
  • Conduct data analysis on contract monitoring and performance datasets.
  • Prepare reports and presentations communicating analytical findings and recommendations.
  • Lead or support projects assigned by organizational leadership.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to support organizational strategies, objectives, and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on research, development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
  • Interact effectively with vendors, government organizations, external partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Apply new skills and knowledge to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of research design, data collection, data manipulation, data analysis, and information presentation.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications such as SAS, Excel, and Python.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using statistical and mathematical techniques.
  • Ability to identify trends and forecast potential future outcomes based on analyzed data.
  • Ability to prepare and present reports communicating data analysis results.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with large or complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including SAS, Excel, data visualization tools, and statistical analysis software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to learn new content, systems, tools, and skills quickly.

Required Education

  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, Health Informatics, or a related field.

Additional Skills

  • Superb written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate moderately complex technical instructions and requests.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, technical teams, key stakeholders, and vendors.
