Position Summary:
\n
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our Converse Apparel team, supporting development and production across multiple product categories, including cut & sew and outerwear across men's, women's, and youth, as well as men's swimwear. This role will partner closely with Design, Production, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent fit, accurate specifications, product quality, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in garment construction and fit, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop initial specifications using reference samples, historical specifications, and established fit standards.
- Develop and release size specifications, grading rules, and fitting comments to vendors.
- Partner with domestic and overseas vendors to resolve fit, construction, and technical issues throughout the development and production process.
- Evaluate Top of Production (TOP) samples and provide final production comments; review inspection reports as required.
- Maintain awareness of retailer-specific fit, testing, labeling, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate live-model fittings, including sample scheduling, garment measurements, fit evaluations, and follow-up comments.
- Maintain and update block specifications to ensure consistency across product categories.
- Collaborate with Technical Design leadership and cross-functional teams on special projects and process improvements.
- Create and maintain sample log charts, tracking sample dates, lab testing, specification approvals, and delivery updates.
- Monitor production status and proactively communicate potential delays or technical issues, with particular attention to key accounts including Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, QVC, and HSN.
- Support new purchase orders by providing specifications and coordinating fittings as needed.
- Follow up on lab testing and retesting and review and approve care labels.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:
\n

- 5–8 years of Technical Design or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and specification development.
- Experience working across multiple product categories preferred, including cut & sew, outerwear, and swimwear.
- Experience conducting live-model fittings and communicating with overseas vendors.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with web-based PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and participate in fittings for extended periods.
- Ability to measure garments and handle, move, and organize samples.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry sample garments, boxes, and materials up to 25 lbs.

The pay range for this position is: $80,000 – $100,000 per year.
\n
