- BS Engineering with 4-7+ years’ experience working as a project engineer in a chemical manufacturing facility.
- The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, design, execution, and startup of capital and expense projects within a chemical manufacturing facility. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Production, EHS, Quality, and Engineering personnel to identify opportunities, develop technical solutions, and execute projects that improve safety, reliability, production capacity, quality, and overall plant performance.
- The Project Engineer will participate in all phases of project execution, including project identification, scope development, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contractor coordination, construction support, commissioning, and startup. Projects may range from small process improvements and equipment replacements to larger capital projects involving process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and civil disciplines.
- In addition to project responsibilities, the Project Engineer will provide technical support to plant operations by assisting with troubleshooting efforts, process improvements, reliability initiatives, and optimization of manufacturing systems. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure to chemical manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and capital project management while developing the technical and leadership skills necessary to support long-term plant objectives.
- Project sizes typically range from approximately $50,000. to $5,000,000. and may involve process equipment, blending systems, dryers, material handling systems, pneumatic conveying systems, utility infrastructure, instrumentation and controls, electrical distribution systems, and facility improvements.
- Supervision and work safety direction of all contractor trades is a necessary job requirement.
