IT/Test Engineering Technician – Evening or Weekend Shift
Location: Whitsett, NC
Pay Rate: Up to $28/hr on W2
Shift: Evening Shift/Weekend shift
Job Summary:
Seeking an IT/Test Engineering Technician to provide hands-on technical support in a manufacturing environment. The role will support production workstations, test systems, computers, networking, software, peripherals, and manufacturing applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot Windows-based PCs, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Support production workstations and test stations on the manufacturing floor.
- Install and configure software, drivers, utilities, and Windows systems.
- Assist with PC imaging, deployment, configuration, and hardware replacement.
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network connectivity.
- Support test equipment, fixtures, and associated computers.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, root causes, and resolutions.
- Work with IT and Test Engineering teams on escalated issues.
- Assist with system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and production projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 1–3+ years of IT, desktop, technical support, manufacturing IT, or test support experience.
- Strong Windows troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of PC hardware and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Skills:
- PC imaging / Windows deployment
- PowerShell, Batch, or other scripting
- CompTIA A+ / Network+
- Manufacturing or production IT experience
- SQL knowledge
- Barcode scanners / Zebra printers
- IT ticketing systems
