The Role
As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of KVC facilities. You will play a vital role in our daily operations by ensuring that plumbing, electrical, and structural elements are in peak condition. Beyond technical repairs, you will serve as a professional role model for the children and adolescents in our care, demonstrating the KVC values of respect, integrity, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform essential repairs including plumbing, minor electrical work, and furniture, fence, and window restoration.
- Maintain the aesthetic and structural integrity of our facilities through interior painting and ceiling repairs.
- Construct shelves and other necessary fixtures to support departmental needs.
- Manage basic groundskeeping tasks, including snow and ice removal and minor pothole repairs.
- Remain available on-call for emergency repairs to ensure facility safety at all times.
- Model professional and courteous behavior, treating all colleagues and stakeholders with respect regardless of background or identity.
- Ensure all work is conducted in adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of at least 10th grade is required; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience: One to three months of related maintenance experience or training.
- Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook email) to manage administrative tasks and communication.
- Licensure: A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) to conduct official company business.
