Job DescriptionJUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATORGlenmont, NYFusco Personnel is recruiting for a driven, detail-oriented professional to join our client as a Junior Project Manager / Estimator. This role offers hands-on exposure to estimating, bidding, and project coordination for construction projects, with responsibilities spanning bid preparation through project closeout. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, and a genuine interest in building a career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and bid packages to complete quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Assist in preparing accurate, well-supported bid proposals for review by senior estimators and project managers.
- Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, comparing quotes and clarifying scope details.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with trade partners and vendors.
- Support project setup, schedule tracking, and change order processing throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date project documentation from kickoff through closeout.
- Serve as a communication link between senior project managers, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and field staff to keep project information current.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Strong math and analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Comfortable working in an office setting with occasional visits to active job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or project coordination/administration.
- Blueprint reading ability.
- Familiarity with estimating software.
- CAD skills or exposure to steel design.
Salary: 40K to 70K based on experience and qualifications; Full-time role with benefits (paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance options, and retirement plan options).
