Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Electrical Technician ensures reliable operation of production machinery by diagnosing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting automated systems such as PLCs and robotics.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on all manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime and maintain safe, reliable operation.
- Work safely with 480V systems and 3-phase power while performing installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical and electro-mechanical equipment to extend equipment life and reduce failures.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to diagnose problems and guide repairs or installations.
- Use a volt meter accurately and safely for troubleshooting, testing, and verifying electrical circuits and components.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, including Siemens platforms, to identify faults and restore automated processes.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems, including Fanuc robots, to support automated production lines.
- Install, wire, and maintain control panels, ensuring proper layout, labeling, and safe operation.
- Work with photo eyes, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) to ensure correct setup, calibration, and operation.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to AC and DC motors, including wiring, connections, and control circuits.
- Support electro-mechanical systems by addressing issues involving electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Document maintenance work, repairs, and modifications to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial machinery.
- Hands-on experience working with 480V systems and 3-phase power in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to correctly and safely use a volt meter for electrical troubleshooting and testing.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC systems, including Siemens platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting robotic systems, including Fanuc robots.
- Proficiency with control panels, including wiring, installation, and maintenance.
- Ability to work with photo eyes, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Strong background in AC/DC motors, wiring, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, including electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- At least 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and industrial automation environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electromechanical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering.
- Journeyman Electrician qualification.
- Experience working with industrial robotics and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Familiarity with industrial electronics, including sensors, photo eyes, and control devices.
- Experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial setting and adapt to changing priorities.

Work Environment
This position is based in a large, clean automotive manufacturing facility, described as nearly the size of three standard plants. The environment reflects typical industrial conditions: it can be hot during the summer and cold during the winter, so appropriate work attire is important for comfort and safety. You will work around automated manufacturing equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, robotics, motors, control panels, sensors, and variable frequency drives. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organized work areas while operating high-volume production lines. The schedule structure allows for regular time off, including every other weekend, while supporting continuous manufacturing operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florence, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.63 - $36.63/hr.
