Overview
seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide temporary IT support coverage for one of their clients. The IT team supports a wide range of end users and systems across multiple buildings within walking distance on campus. This is a fully onsite position and is best suited for candidates local to the East DFW / North Texas area.
Key technologies and tools include:
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Office applications)
- Active Directory (user account and access support)
- Microsoft Intune and PDQ (device management and software deployment)
- Freshservice (ticketing system)
- GlobalProtect VPN
- Webex and Microsoft Teams (collaboration tools)
- Laserfiche and other government document systems
- Dell desktops/laptops, iPads, MiFi devices
- Xerox printer/copier support
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 help desk support via phone, email, Teams, and ticketing system
- Deliver onsite desktop support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Support Windows 10/11 devices, Microsoft 365 applications, and user accounts
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, remote access)
- Install, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Support printers, copiers, and conference room AV equipment
- Document issues, resolutions, and updates in ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when needed
- Provide professional, customer-focused support to end users across departments
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in IT Help Desk or Desktop Support role
- Strong experience with Windows OS and Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with Active Directory user support
- Experience using ticketing systems (Freshservice, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Wylie, TX
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government or public sector environments
- Exposure to Intune or PDQ deployment tools
- Experience supporting printers, copiers, and AV systems
- Familiarity with VPN tools (GlobalProtect preferred)
