Responsibilities of a Maintenance Assistant:
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
- Assist with painting, groundskeeping, and seasonal tasks
- Complete work orders promptly
- Clean common areas, resident rooms, and facility spaces
- Handle laundry duties: wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and order throughout the facility
- Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
- Support a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff
Qualifications of a Maintenance Assistant:
- Experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or laundry in a healthcare setting or long-term care is preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage time well
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and infection control
- Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
