Affordable Housing Property Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay: $29–$32 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
Career Strategies is seeking an experienced Affordable Housing Property Manager for an apartment community in Minneapolis, MN. We are looking for a motivated, organized professional with strong leadership skills and knowledge of affordable housing programs and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will oversee daily property operations, support residents, manage leasing activities, and ensure the community meets occupancy, financial, and regulatory goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the affordable housing community.
- Manage leasing, resident relations, lease renewals, and occupancy.
- Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations and program requirements.
- Oversee income certifications, annual recertifications, and resident eligibility documentation.
- Maintain accurate resident files and prepare for audits and inspections.
- Monitor rent collection, delinquency, accounts receivable, and property expenses.
- Coordinate maintenance operations and ensure work orders are completed promptly.
- Conduct property inspections and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming community.
- Address resident concerns professionally and enforce lease terms and community policies.
- Prepare reports and communicate property performance and operational needs to ownership or management.
- Lead and support onsite staff to maintain efficient property operations.
Qualifications
- Previous property management experience required.
- Affordable housing experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, or other affordable housing programs.
- Understanding of income certifications, recertifications, and compliance documentation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and resident service abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Compensation
- $29–$32 per hour, depending on experience.
- Full-time opportunity in Minneapolis, MN.
