Position Summary
The Apartment Maintenance Technician plays an essential role in ensuring the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the property. From routine upkeep to repairs and unit turns, you will help create a positive living environment for residents while maintaining the integrity of the community.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in general maintenance within residential or multifamily settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete routine maintenance and service requests promptly and professionally
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including inspections, repairs, and touch-ups
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances
- Perform general carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs as needed
- Maintain common areas, grounds, and mechanical spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls when required
- Follow all safety guidelines and company protocols
- Communicate effectively with property management, team members, and residents
Qualifications
- Previous experience in apartment maintenance or a similar field strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of general maintenance disciplines (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
- Ability to assess issues and complete repairs efficiently
- Professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Must have access to basic maintenance tools
- EPA certification is a plus, but not required
