  • NC Detective Agency (NCDA) is seeking dependable, professional Security Officers to provide security, access control, security screening, surveillance, and loss-prevention services at client locations.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol and monitor assigned properties, buildings, entrances, exits, and restricted areas.
  • Operate surveillance cameras, access-control systems, alarms, and other security equipment.
  • Operate body scanners, weapon detection systems, metal detectors, and other screening equipment to identify weapons, prohibited items, and security threats.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and other authorized personnel in accordance with client procedures.
  • Prevent and report theft, unauthorized access, property damage, suspicious activity, and other potential losses.
  • Provide loss-prevention services by identifying and reporting suspected theft, policy violations, inventory discrepancies, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
  • Prepare accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Interview witnesses and obtain information when appropriate following an incident.
  • Maintain a professional security presence while providing excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and client personnel.
  • Follow NCDA policies, client post orders, safety procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other security and loss-prevention duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be dependable, professional, alert, and able to exercise good judgment.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Basic computer skills are required and will be assessed during the interview.
  • Must be capable of learning and operating security screening and technology systems.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, patrol, and remain attentive for extended periods.
  • Must be available to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to respond to work-related notifications and, when accepting a coverage request, report to work as scheduled.
  • Must meet all applicable NCDA, client, licensing, and background-screening requirements.
