Sustainability LabVIEW Test Engineer – Special Test Equipment

We’re looking for an experienced LabVIEW/TestStand Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Special Test Equipment (STE) across engineering and manufacturing environments.

\n


\n

This is a hands-on opportunity for a contractor who enjoys working at the intersection of test engineering, software, hardware, automation, and production. You’ll have the opportunity to work on sophisticated PXI- and PC-based test platforms, develop test software, troubleshoot equipment, and create solutions that directly support production and engineering programs.

\n

What You’ll Be Doing

\n

    \n
  • Develop and maintain manual, semi-automated, and automated Special Test Equipment
  • \n

  • Develop Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Manufacturing Test Procedures (MTP)
  • \n

  • Translate customer requirements into detailed product test specifications
  • \n

  • Perform engineering testing in support of multiple programs
  • \n

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain test software using:
  • \n

  • NI LabVIEW
  • \n

  • NI CVI / LabWindows
  • \n

  • NI TestStand
  • \n

  • Python
  • \n

  • Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
  • \n

  • Work with PXI embedded controllers and associated PXI hardware
  • \n

  • Design and modify engineering and production test fixtures
  • \n

  • Sustain and troubleshoot production Special Test Equipment
  • \n

  • Perform PC repair, maintenance, and legacy operating system support
  • \n

  • Work with SQL databases and Microsoft Access
  • \n

  • Execute testing using laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data loggers
  • \n

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges
  • \n

What We’re Looking For

\n

We’re seeking a technically versatile engineer who can move comfortably between hardware, software, test systems, and production support.

\n


\n

Required/Preferred Background:

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • \n

  • 4–5+ years of experience developing and sustaining Special Test Equipment
  • \n

  • Strong experience with test hardware and software development
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, and/or LabWindows/CVI
  • \n

  • Programming experience with Python and Visual Basic 6.0
  • \n

  • Familiarity with PXI-based test platforms
  • \n

  • Understanding of manufacturing and production environments
  • \n

  • Experience with technical documentation and writing
  • \n

  • Knowledge of legacy operating systems and PC troubleshooting
  • \n

  • Familiarity with SQL and MS Access
  • \n

  • Ability to read requirements, develop test specifications, and execute test procedures
  • \n

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across functional teams
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • \n
