Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Job Description:

Highway West Vacations is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Beach Lead to oversee daily operations at our Lake Siskiyou beach and splash zone. In this role, you will lead the Beach Associates team, coordinate equipment rentals, monitor guest safety, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader who enjoys working outdoors, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a guest-facing role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily beach and splash zone operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all guests.
  • Lead, train, and support Beach Associates in rental procedures, customer service, and safety practices.
  • Oversee the rental process for beach equipment such as kayaks, paddleboards, and other recreational items.
  • Monitor guest activities to ensure compliance with resort safety guidelines and respond quickly to issues or emergencies.
  • Manage scheduling, daily task assignments, and shift coverage for the beach team.
  • Inspect and maintain rental equipment and facilities, reporting maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist with inventory management, including equipment tracking, restocking, and maintenance logs.
  • Support the operations team with beach setup, cleanup, and special events as needed.
  • Ensure consistent communication with resort management regarding daily operations, guest feedback, and staffing needs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in recreation, outdoor operations, or hospitality required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of water safety; lifeguard certification a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak season shifts required.
