Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced OpenText / NetIQ Infrastructure Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. This role requires a senior-level engineer capable of functioning as both a hands-on technical resource and a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across identity, access management, and hybrid infrastructure systems.
The selected candidate will support critical enterprise platforms, including OpenText/NetIQ technologies and Microsoft-based infrastructure (on-premises and Azure). This is not an entry-level role—candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently troubleshoot, optimize, document, and modernize complex, highly integrated enterprise systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesOpenText / NetIQ Infrastructure Support
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise OpenText and NetIQ platforms, including:
- eDirectory
- Identity Manager (IDM)
- Open Enterprise Server (OES)
- NetIQ Access Manager (NAM)
- iPrint
- Secure Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Privileged User Manager (PUM)
- Filr
- Self-Service Password Reset
- Zenworks
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration management
- Troubleshoot identity synchronization, authentication, directory replication, and access management issues
- Support secure identity and access management operations
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization and stability initiatives
Microsoft Infrastructure & Azure Support
- Support enterprise Windows Server environments
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
- Resolve issues related to Active Directory, authentication, and infrastructure connectivity
- Assist with Azure maintenance, integrations, and operational support
- Support integrations between OpenText/NetIQ and Microsoft platforms
- Participate in infrastructure hardening and security remediation initiatives
Infrastructure Engineering & Documentation
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including:
- System and architecture diagrams
- Disaster recovery plans
- Operational runbooks
- Audit and compliance documentation
- Participate in infrastructure assessments and architecture reviews
- Support proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives and technology evaluations
- Recommend improvements for operational efficiency and modernization
SME Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as an SME and escalation point for OpenText and NetIQ technologies
- Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and technical guidance to internal teams
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams
- Participate in troubleshooting calls and incident response activities
- Support high-availability enterprise systems
Operational & Production Support
- Participate in after-hours and on-call support as required
- Support production incidents, maintenance windows, and emergency troubleshooting
- Ensure operational readiness and timely issue resolution
- Contribute to long-term infrastructure support and continuity planning
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with OpenText / NetIQ platforms
Strong expertise in:
- eDirectory, IDM, OES, NAM
- iPrint, SSO, PUM, Filr
- Self-Service Password Reset, Zenworks
- Windows Server enterprise environments
- Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure
- Enterprise identity and authentication systems
- Infrastructure documentation and disaster recovery planning
