Position Overview :
\n
Client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support ongoing Discover integration and decommissioning efforts, which have been extended into 2027. This role will help maintain reliable delivery pipelines, strengthen operational readiness, and support incident management within a high-availability technology environment.
\n
This is a contract-only opportunity. Candidates currently working as active Capital One contractors will receive priority consideration.

Responsibilities :

- \n
- Build, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Support DevOps automation, deployment processes, and release readiness.
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to improve system observability, stability, and operational performance.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using observability tools and practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations and maintain readiness to respond to production issues.
- Support incident management activities through the Technical Operations Center (TOC).
- Troubleshoot incidents, coordinate remediation efforts, and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with software engineering, operations, and project teams to improve reliability and delivery processes.
- Use software development tools and IDEs to understand, troubleshoot, and support application code.
- Contribute code or scripting when needed to automate operational tasks and improve engineering efficiency.

Required Qualifications :
\n
- \n
- Professional experience supporting DevOps, SRE, or production engineering environments.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline development or support.
- Knowledge of observability, monitoring, alerting, and production support practices.
- Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Ability and willingness to participate in on-call support.
- Some programming or scripting experience.
- Familiarity with software engineering concepts, source control, and integrated development environments (IDEs).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
