Garland manufacturing company is seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing essential upkeep tasks and repairs throughout our facility to ensure a safe, and functional environment for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail, and possesses solid technical knowledge across various building systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, such as mending broken locks, patching damage to walls, and replacing light bulbs
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on various equipment and building utility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Respond to and complete assigned work orders efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure the functionality of the facility's safety systems and adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and accurately document all completed tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in commercial industrial maintenance
- Working knowledge of general maintenance methods and basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
- Familiarity with common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Reliable transportation and a basic set of hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team.
- Physical stamina necessary for manual labor
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs
- Must be able to climb 20' ladder
- Must be able to work at heights
- Fork lift operator preferred
