Position: Structured Cabling Technician Level 2

Location: New York 10016

Shift: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Rate: $35-$42 hourly

Duration: 12 month contract + extensions

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician for one of our largest healthcare clients. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day cabling requests, including patches, moves, adds, and changes, while ensuring service goals and expectations are met across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage service requests, incidents, and tasks assigned through the ITSM tool (Heat/Ivanti)

• Assess cabling requirements, obtain vendor pricing, coordinate chargebacks, and schedule and execute cabling work

• Support cabling needs across hospital locations and off-site facilities

• Assist with monitoring and management of BDF/IDF closets, including cleanliness, cable management, power, and cooling conditions

• Identify and escalate risks to services and ensure proper remediation

• Triage daily tickets and schedule related work

• Assemble work order packages for cabling vendors

• Manage work orders through completion and closeout

• Provide troubleshooting assistance and emergency support coverage

• Support technical issue resolution for devices located in technology rooms

• Coordinate vendor access and supervision

• Maintain secure access to technology rooms

• Manage inventory of assets within IDF/BDFs and data center environments

• Maintain and update rack elevations

• Support and monitor devices using available tools and automation where possible

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 4 years of experience in a Structured Cabling role within an enterprise environment

• Working knowledge of BICSI standards and their practical application

• Basic understanding of copper and fiber patching and cabling schemes

• Strong technical skills with basic networking and desktop systems knowledge

• Experience supporting power (UPS) and cooling systems in IT environments

• Prior experience supporting change management activities, including shutdowns and service-impacting events
