We are looking for an experienced Traveling Fire Alarm Technician who wants independence, steady work, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to grow with a fast-moving company. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable traveling extensively for projects throughout the United States. Overnight travel will regularly be required.
This is not a micromanaged position. We are looking for a technician who can take ownership of projects, manage their schedule professionally, solve problems independently, and operate confidently in the field with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm systems while representing the company professionally at customer sites.

Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, service, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose fire alarm system deficiencies and operational issues
- Conduct annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections in accordance with NFPA standards
- Program, service, and test fire alarm panels and associated devices
- Complete inspection reports and required documentation accurately and on time
- Independently manage assigned projects from start to finish
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and office staff
- Ensure all work complies with applicable fire codes, NFPA standards, and safety regulations
- Travel regularly to customer sites throughout the United States, including overnight stays as required
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory responsibly
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers
Qualifications
- Experience working with fire alarm systems required
- Experience with inspection, service, troubleshooting, and programming required
- Knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems and devices required
- Experience with major manufacturers such as Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, EST, Fire-Lite, Potter, or Silent Knight considered a strong asset
- NICET certifications are considered a strong asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and remain organized in the field
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Comfortable managing schedules and priorities without constant supervision
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay overnight as required
- Must be based in the Bay Area or adjacent region (required)
