Job Description Software Developer Position Summary

The Software Developer will design, develop, enhance, and maintain GWA’s proprietary applications. This individual will work closely with the IT Director and our current developer to modernize existing systems, develop new functionality, automate business processes, and support software integrations across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain proprietary software applications.
  • Develop new application features and improve existing functionality.
  • Support the modernization of existing applications and systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director, current developer, and internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Manage and troubleshoot data exchanges between new and existing software integrations.
  • Diagnose and resolve application bugs, data issues, and other technical problems.
  • Maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and development processes.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical users to understand business needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • At least two years of hands-on SQL experience.
  • Proficiency with C# and the .NET technology stack, including .NET Framework and .NET Core.
  • Experience with WinForms and ASP.NET.
  • Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting business applications.
  • Understanding of software integrations and data exchange processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Telerik/Progress development tools and components.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for source control, project tracking, deployment, or development workflows.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and HTML.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
