Blackburn College is seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our Physical Plant team. Blackburn is experiencing historic momentum, including a 25% increase in incoming classes over the past two years and significant investments in campus facilities and the student experience.
Reporting to the Director of Physical Plant, this position performs preventive, corrective, and operational maintenance across multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems. The successful candidate will also supervise student workers as part of Blackburn's nationally distinctive student-managed Work Program.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Perform general building maintenance, carpentry, painting, and repairs.
- Utilize the College's work order management system (CMMS).
- Train and supervise student employees.
- Assist with campus events and emergency response.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and campus safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Three to five years of facilities maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated skills in at least two skilled trades; HVAC experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- EPA 608 certification preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 annually
