Job Description

Byron Manor Senior Living

Lead From the Floor. Develop the Team. Protect the Resident Experience.

Byron Manor Senior Living is looking for a House Manager to help lead the day-to-day execution of our resident care operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who can support residents, coach employees, solve problems in real time, and coordinate with the other House Manager to build a care team that is dependable, accountable, and consistent.

The House Manager serves as the right hand to the partner House Manager in the Wellness department, helping turn care standards into daily execution.

What You’ll Own

Working closely with your partnered House Manager you will:

  • Help lead and coordinate the day-to-day work of the Wellness team.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership during resident care and service delivery.
  • Coach, train, and support Care Aides, Med Techs, and other Wellness team members.
  • Help maintain appropriate staffing and respond to coverage needs as they arise / Scheduling
  • Monitor resident care plans, documentation, changes in condition, and follow-through.
  • Help ensure medications, treatments, assessments, and other assigned care processes are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Identify performance, safety, documentation, or care concerns early and escalate when necessary.
  • Support onboarding and development and the training of new clinical hires.
  • Reinforce Cardinal standards, policies, infection-control practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Step into resident-care responsibilities when operational needs require it.

What Success Looks Like

The team knows what is expected. New employees are trained well. Resident needs are followed through on. Documentation is complete. Problems are identified early. Staff receive coaching before poor habits become normal. The partnered House Manager has a trusted operational partner who can keep the department moving when priorities compete.

We are not looking for someone who manages from an office. We need a leader who is visible, accessible, and willing to work alongside the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or another resident-care environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience leading, training, or directing caregivers or other frontline employees preferred.
  • Strong resident-care judgment and attention to safety.
  • Ability to coach employees while maintaining clear performance expectations.
  • Strong communication with residents, families, employees, and community leadership.
  • Ability to organize competing priorities and follow through consistently.
  • Comfort using electronic health records and other resident-care systems.
  • Ability to recognize when an issue can be solved independently and when it requires escalation.
  • CPR/First Aid and other required certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Any required state licensure or certification based on the responsibilities assigned to the position.

The Person Who Will Thrive Here

You care about residents, but you also understand that great care requires strong execution.

You notice when standards start slipping. You coach in the moment. You follow up. You are comfortable holding people accountable while still being someone the team trusts and comes to for help.

Most importantly, you are willing to lead from the floor.

At Cardinal Senior Living, our mission is simple: we provide dignity, safety, and care to our elderly residents.

We want people to come here to do meaningful work, stay because they are valued, grow because they perform, and lead because they are ready.
