Job Description
Join a hands-on maintenance team responsible for keeping building systems safe, reliable, and fully operational. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems, ensuring a comfortable and well-maintained facility for all occupants. This is a full-time role with a Monday through Friday daytime schedule and the potential to transition to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, including HVAC units, lighting, and general facility infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, completing repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and premises regularly to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies required for repair and maintenance tasks.
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately and maintain logs for future reference and compliance.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, patch repair, painting, flooring repair, and basic pneumatics work.
- Take readings and measurements on HVAC and other building systems to monitor performance and identify issues early.
- Support facility operations by assisting with general facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in building maintenance or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in facilities and building maintenance, including HVAC, basic electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems independently.
- Strong preventive maintenance experience on building systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools for repair and maintenance tasks.
- Basic understanding of pneumatics and general mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform patch repair, basic carpentry, painting, flooring repair, and general maintenance tasks.
- Good communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with building occupants and team members.
- Physical dexterity and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions, including standing, bending, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- EPA certification for HVAC work is a strong plus.
- 3–5 years of specific HVAC, plumbing, or related maintenance experience is beneficial.
- Electrical experience or a related electrical degree is a plus.
- Experience with facilities maintenance in commercial or institutional environments.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment readings, measurements, and basic technical information.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and maintenance tasks.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site role with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work across the facility, including mechanical rooms, common areas, and building interiors, performing hands-on maintenance using a variety of hand and power tools. The work involves regular physical activity, such as lifting, carrying equipment, climbing, bending, and working in different environmental conditions. You will handle HVAC systems, basic electrical and plumbing components, lighting, mechanical equipment, and general building finishes, following established safety procedures and standards throughout your daily tasks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
