Summary:

  • Tier One Technologies is seeking a COBOL/CICS Developer to support Payroll applications for our US Government client.
  • \n

  • This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
  • \n

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • \n

  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Ensure that requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • \n

  • Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirements specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop detailed, lower-level implementation requirements.
  • \n

  • Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development.
  • \n

  • Design interfaces and integrate system elements to ensure they function together as a cohesive system.
  • \n

  • Assess system performance using established evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • \n

  • Act as a customer liaison and support business development activities to understand and shape requirements.
  • \n

  • Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
  • \n

  • Participate in design reviews of hardware and software components to ensure their applicability to the current system and maintain requirements traceability through compliance verification and validation.
  • \n

  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure they meet contractual requirements and participate in testing activities to validate requirements.
  • \n

  • Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts in making required changes.
  • \n

  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify database identifiers for database management systems, or direct others in coding these descriptions.
  • \n

  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
  • \n

  • Review project requests describing database user needs and estimate the time and cost required to complete the project.
  • \n

Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
  • \n

  • 4+ years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2.
  • \n

  • Prior experience supporting Payroll applications is a plus.
  • \n

  • Experience utilizing Agile methodology.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • \n

  • Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
  • \n

  • Able to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • \n

  • Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • \n

  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
