AAC is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer for an exciting opportunity supporting our large government contracting client on-site at their location in Columbia, SC.
SCOPE:
- Architect, deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred) across on‐premise and cloud environments
- Implement secure baseline configurations aligned with DOJ, NIST, and federal cybersecurity standards
- Manage OS patching, kernel dependences, and system performance tuning
- Support enterprise application hosting, web services, databases, and middleware running on Linux platforms
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar tools
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar
- Assist with migration, deployment, and administration of Linux workloads in cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 8–10+ years of Linux engineering experience in enterprise or federal environments
- Advanced experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9)
- Strong proficiency with Bash scripting and at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware), containers, and cloud computing
- Experience supporting security compliance under federal frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800‐53, STIGs)
DELIVERABLES:
- System health and performance reports
- Security compliance documentation, patching summaries, and vulnerability remediation status
- Updated architecture diagrams and configuration baselines
- Automation scripts, IaC modules, and associated documentation
- Migration plans, change management packages, and incident reports
