Maintenance Assistant – Full-Time, Day Shift

Respiratory and Rehab of RI | Coventry, RI

Respiratory and Rehab of RI, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Coventry, RI, is hiring a full-time Maintenance Assistant. In this role, you’ll support our Maintenance Director in keeping our building safe, comfortable and in good repair for our residents, staff and visitors.

What you’ll do

• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks

• Make basic repairs: plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and drywall

• Inspect and repair resident beds, wheelchairs, call lights and other equipment

• Prep resident rooms for new admissions

• Assist with fire safety checks, generator testing and emergency preparedness

• Change HVAC filters and help maintain heating and cooling systems

• Maintain grounds and walkways, including snow and ice removal

• Follow oxygen safety and infection control practices throughout the building

What we’re looking for

• High school diploma or GED

• 1+ year of building maintenance or repair experience

• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry

• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely

• Dependable, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team

• Healthcare or nursing home maintenance experience is a plus, but not required. Training is provided.
