Maintain retail commercial properties as part of a landscaping crew, reporting to the grounds supervisor. This role supports year-round property care through fall leaf removal, spring planting, plant and turf maintenance, irrigation upkeep, seasonal services, and proper maintenance of landscaping equipment. Daily work is organized through crew-based assignments, property-based schedules, and supervisor-led routes, with opportunities to advance as a lead groundskeeper, irrigation specialist, crew supervisor, or through horticulture development.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance for retail properties.
- Edge and trim commercial landscape areas.
- Complete fall leaf removal, spring planting, and other seasonal services.
- Care for trees, shrubs, plants, and turf.
- Perform turf management and year-round landscaping activities.
- Maintain irrigation systems, including basic repairs and adjustments.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, string trimmers, and other landscape equipment.
- Collaborate with the landscaping crew while following supervisor-led routes and property-based schedules.
- Follow site safety practices during daily groundskeeping activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of groundskeeping maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, horticulture, turf management, and plant care.
- Experience operating landscape equipment.
- Experience with small engine and landscape equipment maintenance.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
