Our client seeks two Data Engineers to build and support batch-oriented data pipelines for AML and personal loans initiatives. The team operates in a micro-pod structure and requires hands-on engineering across Spark, Python, AWS Glue, Airflow, and SQL. Engineers will develop data integrations, perform data analysis and profiling, and provide production support to ensure timely delivery ahead of a hard deadline prior to May. Candidates must be comfortable with in-person interviews including a Python coding test, system design and testing, and SQL assessments.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $64.00 to $74.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain batch data pipelines and data integrations to transform large data volumes with quality.
- Develop in Spark and Python on AWS services including Glue and related data platforms.
- Administer and orchestrate workflows using Airflow.
- Write performant SQL for data transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Profile datasets and conduct data analysis to support pipeline health and downstream consumption.
- Provide production support and promptly resolve issues in a shared on-call rotation as needed.
- Collaborate within small engineering pods aligned to initiatives for AML and personal loans.
- Contribute to API or data-serving layers that expose curated datasets to consumers.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years in application or data engineering with hands-on coding.
- 4+ years with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, or EMR.
- 4+ years with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with emphasis on AWS Glue and related services.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL. Java experience is beneficial.
- Experience with Airflow for orchestration and administration.
- Background in data analysis, profiling, and production support of pipelines.
- Familiarity with tools such as EMR, MapReduce, Hive, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience working within Agile engineering practices.
