Position Overview:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing routine cleaning and housekeeping activities throughout manufacturing, office, laboratory, and common areas. This role helps support daily operations by ensuring workspaces remain presentable, sanitary, and compliant with company safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining a professional work environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to workplace cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain manufacturing areas, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, and other facility spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, dust, and sanitize floors, walls, windows, furniture, and other surfaces.
- Empty waste and recycling containers and ensure proper disposal of materials.
- Clean and restock restroom supplies, including paper products, soap, and other consumables.
- Maintain cleanliness of employee common areas, kitchens, and break rooms.
- Assist with room setup and furniture movement for meetings, training sessions, and company events.
- Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and chemical handling requirements.
- Support facility housekeeping initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Perform other custodial and facility support duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, or related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and safe handling practices.
- Ability to safely operate vacuums, floor cleaning equipment, ladders, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with employees throughout the organization.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

Environment & Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands to fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.
- The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain).
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
- The employee is frequently required to use the computer.
- May involve the use of oils and solvents.
- Subject to some soilage and irritation from cleaning solutions. (Lab Coats provided)
- Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
- Safety Glasses are required and May require area specific safety training
- This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
