- Create and maintain graphical displays, control logic, schedules, and alarm handling within Niagara/Tridium frameworks.
- Collaborate with project engineers, commissioning teams, and field technicians to implement and test control applications on site and remotely.
- Perform system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remedial programming to resolve issues during installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including point lists, control narratives, sequence of operations, and wiring diagrams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior application engineers and control technicians, promoting best practices and standards.
- Support pre-sales and design review activities by providing technical input on controls architecture, equipment selection, and integration approaches.
- Develop commissioning plans, participate in site commissioning, functional testing, and turnover to operations teams.
- Stay current with industry standards, BAS technologies, Niagara releases, and HVAC control methodologies, and recommend improvements to system architecture and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing control applications for BMS/BAS in commercial or industrial buildings, with demonstrated expertise in HVAC controls and systems.
- Proven experience with Tridium Niagara Framework (AX, N4) including station development, modules, BAJA components, and NiagaraAX/Niagara 4 toolchains.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment and control sequences for AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps, energy recovery, and ventilation systems.
- Experience with industry protocols and integration methods such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and OPC.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, commissioning, and field support of control systems and sensors.
- Familiarity with controls programming languages, graphical visualization tools, database logging, and alarm management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring junior staff and working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
