Job Title: QA Supervisor
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Salary: $60-75,000 + Benefits
2nd Shift: 2-10pm | Mon-Fri

This individual will be responsible for the supervision of all daily production floor activities as it relates to quality. This position will coordinate quality activities and provide leadership to ensure an effective food safety and quality management system is maintained. Provide technical support with an emphasis on customer expectations, continuous improvement opportunities, and productivity requirements. This position is responsible for the supervision of all daily production floor activities as it relates to quality and QA technicians. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises daily activities of QA Technicians to ensure all QA tasks are carried as desired.
  • Provides guidance regarding quality and food safety issues to ops and QA teams.
  • Coach, train, and support the QA team to support business growth.
  • Communicates daily with FSQA Techs regarding production schedule and QA issues.
  • Trains FSQA Techs and performs new employee orientations.
  • Maintain inventory of QC/lab supplies and coordinate training from suppliers or new equipment purchased.
  • Works with QA Manager to discipline workers as appropriate.
  • Reviews and organizes operational paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Support the execution of internal and third-party audits (e.g., customer, regulatory, GFSI, etc.) and participate in inspections; analyzing the results and deficiencies found.
  • Supports production managers, supervisors and leads during formula changes and/or product issues.
  • Assist with the activities of the company hold, trace, & recall program. Responsible for summarizing Hold reports.
  • Assists in familiarizing employees with plant operations as part of company safety programs.
  • Assumes some responsibilities of the QA Manager in his/her absence.
  • Serve as backup to the Quality Manager.
  • Performs assignments in accordance with established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), policies and procedures.
  • Support ops and other support teams in reducing foreign object contamination.
  • Oversee product releases.
  • Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive influence on the production floor.
  • Performs daily product review and customer complaint reviews.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous knowledge working in food production Quality Assurance department.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Must have a flexible schedule including working weekends, as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.
  • Follows production dress code standards and maintains good personal hygiene.

PREFERRED

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Stoop, kneel or bend.
  • Employee must lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if weight is exceeded.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 45 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if weight is exceeded.
