Optomi is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support application development initiatives within a large, enterprise-level organization. This individual will be responsible for managing a combination of ongoing software enhancements and larger, milestone-driven projects, utilizing both traditional Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in software development project management, the ability to navigate complex corporate environments, and experience coordinating cross-functional teams across development, business, QA, UX, and release management. This role requires a well-rounded Project Manager who can adapt Agile practices to an established organizational structure while maintaining strong project planning, execution, and delivery oversight.

Type: 6-Month Contract (W2 Only)

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Senior-level project management experience supporting software development and application development initiatives.

\n

• Proven experience managing projects using both traditional Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

\n

• Strong project planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, and dependency management skills.

\n

• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and initiatives concurrently.

\n

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across development, business, QA, UX, and release management.

\n

• Experience working within a structured enterprise or corporate environment with established processes and organizational constraints.

\n

• Ability to adapt Agile practices to environments that are not fully Agile.

\n

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant project management certifications.

\n

• Experience supporting CRM applications or custom-built, in-house software applications.

\n

• Experience with legacy application modernization initiatives.

\n

• Experience managing projects within large enterprise organizations.

\n

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Planview, Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.

\n

• Experience tracking project budgets, financials, resource hours, or project costs.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead and manage multiple software development and application enhancement initiatives simultaneously, ensuring projects remain aligned with business objectives and delivery timelines.

\n

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, schedules, dependencies, risks, and status reports.

\n

• Apply both traditional Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies based on project requirements and organizational constraints.

\n

• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, business stakeholders, Business Analysts, UX, QA, and release management.

\n

• Manage ongoing application enhancements and feature requests alongside larger, milestone-driven projects.

\n

• Facilitate project communication, stakeholder alignment, and regular status updates, including presentations to senior leadership as needed.

\n

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks while proactively driving issue resolution.

\n

• Navigate established enterprise processes and collaborate effectively with teams that may not report directly to the Project Manager.

\n

• Support application modernization initiatives involving legacy systems and integration of functionality into custom-built applications.

\n

• Track project resources, hours, budgets, and financials as needed.
