Job Title: Testing Technician
Job Description
The Testing Technician performs production-line testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic products, including power-related and telecom network and industrial equipment. This role focuses on testing Newmar and Dura Comm production products, installing firmware on Dura Comm branded products, and ensuring high-quality performance of electrical panels and circuit boards through detailed bench testing and calibration.
1st shift - 6am to 2:30pm
$30 - $35/hr
Responsibilities
- Perform testing on equipment such as analog, digital, video, and logic circuits, as well as individual components and instruments.
- Measure power, signal, and temperature using appropriate test equipment and document results accurately.
- Conduct production-line testing, troubleshooting to the component level, and firmware installation on Dura Comm branded products.
- Review test results with staff and make recommendations on repair, maintenance, and refinement of equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot circuit boards and units down to the component level, identifying and correcting nonconforming products.
- Use basic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), current clamps, Hi-Pot machines, and probes, in a safe and effective manner.
- Perform bench testing and calibration on electrical panels and telecom products for network and industrial applications.
- Install and verify firmware on telecom and industrial products, ensuring correct configuration and functionality.
- Interpret and work from electronic schematics to diagnose and resolve issues in circuits and assemblies.
- Apply soldering and crimping techniques to repair or modify circuit boards, components, and wiring as needed.
- Handle high-volume testing for production panels while maintaining quality standards and throughput expectations.
- Work with AC and DC high-voltage systems in accordance with safety and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to refine testing methods and improve product quality and reliability.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to other technicians and act as an example in technical practices and work habits.
- Perform work under minimal supervision, handling complex issues and escalating only the most complex problems to higher-level staff.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in testing electrical components and production panels.
- Strong hands-on experience with electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transformers, diodes, and transistors.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot circuit boards and units to the component level.
- Experience with high-volume testing for production panels.
- Proficient use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), current clamps, Hi-Pot machines, and probes.
- Experience with telecom products (network and industrial) and related testing practices.
- Ability to perform firmware installation on electronic and telecom products.
- Experience with bench testing and calibration of electrical panels and related equipment.
- Knowledge and practical experience working with high voltage, including AC and DC systems.
- Soldering and crimping experience for electronic assemblies and wiring.
- Ability to perform work under minimal supervision and handle complex technical issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic testing, troubleshooting, and quality verification.
- Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to other technicians.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with computer networks related to telecom and industrial products.
- testing or supporting network and industrial telecom products.
- Experience writing or contributing to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and quality standards.
- Strong communication skills for reviewing test results and making recommendations to staff.
- Demonstrated initiative in improving processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Comfort working in a new or growing division where processes and standards are being developed and refined.

Work Environment
The role is based in a production and test environment focused on high-volume testing of electrical panels and telecom products. You will work with a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, current clamps, Hi-Pot machines, probes, and other bench-testing tools, as well as AC/DC high-voltage systems. The division offers a setting where you can grow, learn, and take initiative, contributing to the development of processes and quality standards in a new area of the business. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
