Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Lead to oversee the mechanical and controls technicians at our client sites. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, ensure high-quality workmanship, and act as the primary liaison between the on-site team and the Field Project Manager. This role requires someone who is committed to maintaining project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of on-site mechanical and controls technicians.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the on-site team and the Field Project Manager.
  • Ensure all installations and maintenance activities meet project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the training and instruction of technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Oversee project schedule, making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and reporting daily/weekly progress to the Field Project Manager.
  • Manage hours worked by the team to stay within the project's scope and budget.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues promptly.
  • Plan and schedule project tasks in alignment with the milestone installation timeline(s), assigning responsibilities to ensure efficient completion of the project milestones.
  • Train and mentor team members in best practices for conveyor system installation and maintenance.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in a supervisory role within the mechanical and electrical installation field.
  • Experience working with Conveyor Systems.
  • PLC Knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing field service teams.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and familiarity with Autodesk products, ERP, and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites frequently, up to 90%.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that facilitates automobile insurance company policy.
  • Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient typing skills required.

Work Environment

This role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and requires compliance with safety standards per OSHA regulations. Candidates must be willing to travel extensively, spending 30-60 days on the road, and will often work in Amazon facilities, adhering to their safety requirements. The work environment is dynamic and involves using hand and power tools, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and operating forklifts and scissor lifts safely.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr.
