Summary

The Manager 2, Facilities & Maintenance leads facility, utility, equipment, and maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing performance. This role is responsible for achieving department KPIs, minimizing equipment downtime, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, overseeing critical spares and capital projects, and developing a high-performing maintenance team. The manager partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS&S, and senior leadership to support business objectives and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Lead maintenance of facilities, utilities, production equipment, and critical systems to achieve established safety, quality, delivery, cost, and reliability KPIs.Plan and direct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain equipment readiness.Manage maintenance performance, work-order traceability, and asset records through the ERP system.Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations, as well as ISO standards.Support safety and environmental programs, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash administration, recordkeeping, reporting, and system upgrades.Oversee inventory and replenishment of production and critical-system spare parts.Evaluate technology trends, workforce needs, system performance, and business demand to identify improvement and upgrade opportunities.Partner with management, production, and engineering teams to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and implementation of new and existing systems and equipment.Lead continuous improvement, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective-action efforts.Plan and coordinate facility, equipment, grounds, repair, construction, and installation activities with minimal operational disruption.Manage capital expenditure projects, including HVAC, DI/RO systems, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, contract review, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, coaching, and employee retention.Provide clear leadership, remove barriers, develop employees, and ensure department performance meets or exceeds company goals. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.At least 5 years of experience in facilities, equipment maintenance, maintenance operations, or mechanical engineering.At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a facilities, equipment, or maintenance function.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and leadership teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Demonstrated knowledge of root cause analysis methods.Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while delivering results on schedule. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, or another continuous improvement methodology.Project management certification or equivalent demonstrated experience managing project life cycles.Maintenance management certification or a similar relevant qualification.Experience with statistical analysis software.Strong mechanical aptitude related to facilities management, equipment installation, return-to-service activities, and system upgrades.Demonstrated success maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies and standards. Working Conditions Work is performed in both manufacturing and office environments; required personal protective equipment must be worn on the manufacturing floor.Position requires periods of sitting and standing, occasional use of hand tools, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.Domestic and international travel may be required.
