Keep our workplace running smoothly, safely, and looking its best
About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Facilities Assistant who takes pride in keeping our facility safe, clean, and fully functional every day. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy variety in your work—from restocking supplies and assembling furniture to performing basic preventive maintenance and coordinating with vendors—this role is for you.
You’ll play a key part in supporting our team so everyone can focus on their work in a well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and restock restroom supplies (paper products, soap, sanitizer, etc.) throughout the day
- Fulfill office and breakroom supply requests and handle general upkeep to support daily operations
- Install, update, and maintain safety, wayfinding, and compliance signage across the facility and shop floor
- Perform routine exterior cleaning: sweeping, pressure washing, trash/debris removal, and grounds upkeep
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance checks on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems; log findings and escalate issues as needed
- Assemble and install desks, chairs, workstations, shelving, and other office/shop equipment
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for larger repairs or specialized servicing
- Set up and break down furniture and equipment for meetings, events, or space reconfigurations
- Manage inventory of facilities supplies (cleaning products, tools, spare parts)
- Assist with move-in/move-out logistics, furniture assembly, and basic space planning
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes
- Respond promptly to facility requests and tickets from staff
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and schedules
- Support janitorial staff or cleaning contractors as needed
- Assist with basic security tasks such as badge access, lock checks, and building entry monitoring
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, climbing ladders)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Valid driver’s license (if travel between sites is required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with facilities management software or ticketing systems
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical skills
- Furniture and equipment assembly experience
- Forklift or other equipment certification (if applicable)
- First Aid/CPR certification
Work Environment
This is a hands-on role that involves standing, walking, and physical activity for extended periods. You’ll work both indoors and outdoors and may encounter varying temperatures. Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call availability may be needed for emergencies.
