Job Roles and Responsibilities

Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project proposals to determine project scope

Prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates

Develop detailed bid packages and project cost proposals

Analyze project costs and support budgeting and cost control activities
-
Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to clarify project requirements
-
Track estimate assumptions and maintain accurate cost records
-
Update cost databases and estimating documentation
-
Communicate with vendors and customers to obtain pricing and clarify project details
-
Support competitive bid preparation and timely proposal submissions
-
Assist with project planning and financial forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications and Certifications
-
Experience in project estimating within steel fabrication, construction, or industrial manufacturing
-
Strong knowledge of construction estimating and project costing principles
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
-
Experience with estimating software, spreadsheets, and computer applications
-
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
