Position Summary

The Network Architect oversees all technology integrations and ensures the organization’s network and security standards are upheld. This role is accountable for the safety, stability and performance of all network platforms and must clearly represent complex architectures with emphasis on security, scalability, resiliency, and automation.


Primary Success Factors

  • Direct major network initiatives that strengthen the institution’s overall network maturity and expand defensive and operational capabilities.
  • Guide project teams in shaping network designs and converting technical and business requirements into actionable plans, with emphasis on secure architectures.
  • Contribute to architectural governance by reviewing technology environments and ensuring alignment with enterprise network principles.
  • Oversee the safe integration of new and existing network components into the organization’s operating ecosystem.
  • Champion improvements to the current network environment that enhance efficiency and performance across diverse business areas and technologies.
  • Partner with business leaders to capture operational needs and embed them into the broader technology architecture.
  • Enforce network standards and practices that reinforce a strong security posture.
  • Architect network automation frameworks that streamline and orchestrate critical processes.
  • Lead Agile SAFE planning cycles for the network program and coordinate sprint execution.
  • Support delivery teams in executing projects through established project management and SAFE methodologies.
  • Identify operational and process enhancements that maximize value from existing security investments and address evolving regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as a member of the enterprise architecture function, advising on network protection strategies and architectural principles.
  • Demonstrate awareness of emerging network technologies and apply market trends to advance the institution’s network program.
  • Ensure the resilience and architectural integrity of the network while driving modernization efforts, including cloud transformation.
  • Oversee the execution of business continuity and disaster recovery processes for all network components.

Required Experience

  • At least seven years of broad, hands‐on experience supporting and managing enterprise‐class network environments across diverse technical and business domains.
  • Ideally three or more years leading the design and ownership of large‐scale architectural changes within an enterprise setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience; industry certifications from major network vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or Fortinet are preferred.
  • Demonstrated mastery of network best practices, control frameworks, and technical standards.
  • Strong background in IT risk, change control, operational processes, security administration, and network operations.
  • Deep expertise implementing and managing network protocols, encryption technologies, and security mechanisms.
  • Proven ability to develop, maintain, and publish policies, procedures, metrics, and related documentation using current tools and methods.
  • Significant experience designing network architectures for both cloud environments and on‐premises infrastructures.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in network security, architecture, engineering, and deployment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, operate independently, coordinate with leaders across the organization, and consistently deliver on commitments.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies.
