A day in the life

You arrive on shift, pull the latest work instructions, and step into a diesel-electric powerhouse that’s nearing delivery. You methodically bring systems online, verify interlocks, and validate that air brakes, diesel power, and electronic controls behave exactly as designed. A tap of the multimeter here, a trace with the oscilloscope there—each reading tells part of the story. When something’s off, you diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair. By afternoon, you’re on the test track, operating the locomotive under strict safety rules to confirm every subsystem performs flawlessly. You capture data, log findings, and collaborate with quality and production before handing off a locomotive you’re proud to sign your name to.
