An established contractor specializing in public infrastructure projects is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex public works and utility projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This position will oversee multiple concurrent projects while serving as the primary point of contact for public agency clients, internal teams, and field operations.
This opportunity is well suited for a seasoned project manager with experience delivering public works projects. Candidates from electrical, utility, heavy civil, transportation, or other infrastructure construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple public infrastructure projects from award through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Lead project financials, including forecasting, change orders, billing, and cost tracking.
- Build strong relationships with owners, public agencies, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and field operations.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, procurement, and project documentation.
- Mentor and support Project Engineers while coordinating with field leadership.
- Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain quality, safety, and compliance throughout project execution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within construction.
- Background in infrastructure, utilities, transportation, airports, heavy civil, or electrical construction.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience managing change orders, owner contracts, and project financial performance.
- Comfortable working directly with public agencies, consultants, and owners.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid California Driver License.
