Position OverviewSamyak Solutions Inc. (SSI) seeks a Website Developer I to support CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) in developing, maintaining, and enhancing web-based tools, communication products, and digital resources. The role contributes to DDT's public health mission by ensuring that web content is accessible, functional, and aligned with federal standards. The selected candidate will work within CDC's enterprise technology framework, including FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments and the CDC EDAV platform.
Key Responsibilities• Develop, build, and test websites and web-based communication products, interactive graphics, electronic tools, and training resources as specified by CDC.
• Write and edit public health content for diverse website audiences; develop and update web-based promotional materials, curricula, and other digital resources.
• Ensure all web content and electronic deliverables comply with Section 508 accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 Level A & AA), HHS Clear Communication Index, and CDC branding guidelines.
• Create videos and interactive graphics; support development and national launch of electronic tools and training modules.
• Collect and analyze website metrics; translate data and present findings to program and branch leadership for decision-making.
• Support social media activities including Facebook and Twitter/X; assist with digital campaign execution.
• Assist in driving strategy and execution of digital marketing communications and public relations initiatives.
• Develop and maintain web filing systems; track and document web projects from initiation to closeout.
• Utilize CDC's Microsoft Azure cloud environment for new IT projects; consult NCCDPHP's OIIRM for EDAV platform access.
• Follow CDC's AI guidance for responsible use of generative AI tools; CDC data shall not be stored in non-CDC AI platforms.
• Adhere to CDC secure coding best practices per US-CERT standards and OWASP guidelines.
• Prepare Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR/VPAT) as required; remediate accessibility deficiencies at contractor's expense.
• Maintain asset and system inventories; support continuous monitoring and vulnerability management requirements as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant web development experience; OR High School diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant web development experience.
• Proficiency in web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and content management systems.
• Knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments (Microsoft Azure preferred) and federal IT security requirements a plus.
• Experience with video production, interactive graphics, or e-learning development a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required CDC background investigation and security clearance.
Other Requirements• Must comply with HSPD-12 and obtain a CDC PIV credential.
• Must complete mandatory HHS/CDC Information Security Awareness, Privacy, and Records Management training before starting work and annually thereafter.
• Role-based cybersecurity training required annually per HHS policy.
• Work is primarily CDC Chamblee Campus, Atlanta, GA.
• U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States required.
