Job Description
This role supports a manufacturing facility that produces interior and exterior home products for residential and commercial use, as well as coatings, printing inks, packaging, consumer goods, and automotive products. The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs a wide range of production and facility equipment, with a strong focus on electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including heating and cooling equipment, thermocouples, extruders, forklifts, plastic cutting machines, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and specialty color-making machines.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues on equipment operating at 110V, limited 220V, and up to 480V with motors, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Conduct extensive electrical troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and schematics to identify faults and restore equipment to service quickly.
- Perform basic PLC-related tasks and support troubleshooting activities involving control systems as needed.
- Carry out basic facilities maintenance tasks to support the overall upkeep and safe operation of the facility.
- Use hand tools, test equipment, and measurement devices to inspect, repair, and verify proper operation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests from production and other departments, prioritize work orders, and minimize equipment downtime.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in a clear and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to share knowledge, coordinate repairs, and support continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems on equipment operating at 110V, limited 220V, and up to 480V with motors.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of related components.
- Experience working with HVAC systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated skill in general maintenance and repair of industrial machinery such as extruders, forklifts, cutting machines, and specialty production equipment.
- Basic familiarity with PLC-related work and the ability to support troubleshooting of control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work independently on a small maintenance team and make sound decisions while under time pressure.
- Commitment to working safely around electrical equipment, moving machinery, and production operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Military background, particularly in technical or maintenance roles, is highly valued.
- Experience or background in printing or printing-related manufacturing is a strong plus.
- Previous experience in a coatings, inks, packaging, consumer goods, or automotive-related manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate clearly with production and supervisory staff about equipment status and repair needs.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks effectively.

Work Environment
The role is based in a small manufacturing facility of approximately 30 employees, creating a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The maintenance team on the relevant shift typically consists of two technicians, allowing for both independence and teamwork. The facility operates multiple shifts, with a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and opportunities to work a hybrid second or third shift starting any time from 3:00 p.m. onward for 7–8 hours per day. Overtime is minimal, and technicians generally work a straight 40-hour week. The environment is described as very relaxed, with supportive and flexible supervision and positive relationships among team members. Work involves regular interaction with industrial equipment such as extruders, forklifts, plastic cutting machines, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and specialty color-making machines, as well as electrical systems ranging from 110V to 480V. The facility uses standard industrial tools and equipment, and technicians are expected to follow appropriate safety practices while working on and around machinery.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $68640.00/yr.
