Job Description
About the Role\n
Lockhern Digital is hiring a Senior Paid Search Manager to work directly alongside agency leadership on a growing portfolio of ecommerce client accounts.
\n
\n
This role sits close to the top. Agency leadership sets the strategic direction and owns client onboarding. You'll help shape that strategy account by account, then own the execution and the day-to-day relationship that follows it.
\n
\n
In practice: you're in the strategy conversations, not receiving the output of them. You're on the client calls. You're the person the client hears from about what's working, what isn't, and what's happening next. You're in the platform every day making it happen.
\n
\n
Early on, the weight is on execution while you get acclimated to our clients and how we operate. Over time, you take on more of the day-to-day ownership and more of the strategic lead. How fast that happens depends on you.
\n
About Lockhern Digital\n
Lockhern Digital is a performance marketing agency specializing in paid search, feed-driven ecommerce, paid social, and SEO/AI search. We run Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, and YouTube/Demand Gen for a portfolio of ecommerce and lead-generation clients, and we build our own internal tooling to manage accounts efficiently at scale.
\n
\n
We're small, fast-moving, and direct. Practical strategy, clean execution, measurable results.
\n
Key Responsibilities\n
Strategy and Planning
\n
\n
- \n
- Partner with agency leadership to develop account strategy for new and existing clients
- Contribute to strategic conversations and planning sessions — bring a point of view, not just notes
- Translate agreed strategy into concrete campaign plans, build specs, and testing roadmaps
- Bring performance findings back into strategy so plans adjust to what the data is actually showing
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Client Management
\n
\n
- \n
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned accounts
- Lead recurring performance and reporting calls, and participate in strategy calls alongside leadership
- Communicate results, optimizations, and next steps clearly to both clients and internal teams
- Own the account narrative — clients should hear about issues from you before they find them
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Campaign Execution
\n
\n
- \n
- Build, restructure, and launch campaigns across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and YouTube
- Manage Google Merchant Center and product feeds, including feed structure, disapprovals, and item-level troubleshooting
- Own budget pacing, bid strategy management, and Smart Bidding oversight
- Maintain conversion tracking accuracy, including enhanced and offline conversions
- Use Google Ads Editor to implement large-scale changes efficiently and accurately
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Optimization and Insight
\n
\n
- \n
- Run ongoing optimization across the portfolio: keyword research, search term analysis, audience refinement, ad copy testing
- Identify performance risks and opportunities and bring them forward with a recommended course of action
- Execute testing plans, document results, and connect outcomes back to business objectives
- Use scripts, GAQL, Google Sheets, and LLM-assisted workflows to monitor and optimize accounts at scale
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Reporting
\n
\n
- \n
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Looker Studio, GA4, and Google Ads
- Deliver recurring performance summaries focused on business outcomes rather than platform metrics
- Give internal teams the context they need to speak to account performance
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Collaboration
\n
\n
- \n
- Work alongside paid social, SEO, landing page, and client strategy teams
- Document account knowledge and process to support the team as the portfolio grows
\n
\n
\n
Required Qualifications\n
- \n
- Deep, current hands-on experience managing Google Ads at a senior level across multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Ecommerce depth is required. Google Merchant Center, product feed structure and troubleshooting, Shopping and Performance Max architecture, feed-driven strategy
- Advanced working knowledge of Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, YouTube, and conversion tracking
- Fluent in Google Ads Editor for large-scale builds and restructures
- Demonstrated use of automation in your workflow — Google Ads scripts, GAQL, Sheets/Apps Script, LLM-assisted analysis, or similar
- Reporting and analysis in GA4 and Looker Studio
- Client-facing experience — you've run the call, not just prepared the deck for it
- Strong written and verbal communication, and the judgment to know when to raise something
- Agency experience strongly preferred
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Preferred Experience\n
- \n
- Microsoft Ads
- Meta and paid social
- Lead-generation accounts alongside ecommerce
- Landing page and CRO collaboration
- Experience mentoring junior account staff
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
What Success Looks Like\n
First 30–60 days: You've absorbed the accounts and our approach, you're executing accurately and on time, and you're contributing in strategy conversations rather than just listening.
\n
\n
By 90 days: You're running reporting calls independently. Clients know you and trust you. Performance issues get surfaced by you, with a recommendation attached.
\n
\n
Beyond: You're carrying more of the day-to-day ownership and taking a larger strategic lead on your accounts.
\n
Who This Is For\n
Someone who wants to work closely with leadership rather than at a distance from it. Someone who takes a direction and runs, then comes back with results and a point of view. Someone who reaches for a script or a query before a manual export.
\n
\n
If you want a defined process handed to you, this isn't the right fit. If you've been the most capable person on an account team and want the ownership and the seat at the table to match, it is.
\n
Compensation and Benefits\n
- \n
- Annual salary of $80,000–$100,000
- Remote work environment
- 401(k) with company match
- Company-subsidized health insurance
